The circle of life..

.. as Elton would sing; has certainly been evident for us this weekend.

We were giddy and delighted to find a pond full of frog spawn and frogs leaping about everywhere on Saturday morning, then our Heron came back and we watched him stalking about looking majestic.. but then were horrified to watch the Heron then grab a frog and fly away with him - awful, we have positioned a fake heron now close to the spawn in the hope that it puts him off.

Then the saddest of all was today when we lost one of our girls.. it is with sadness that we tell all that this afternoon Tulissa was horribly  mauled by something (we know what) and had to be put to sleep. Tulissa was a cute ginger girl, different from the other ginger's because she had white tail feathers. It has to be expected living n the country and letting them wander as far as they want as we do but its still a shame.

Mr W was particularly brilliant in sparing me any of the nastiness so a few more 'my hero' points for him :-)

RIP Tulissa  -  here she is with all the girls.. T is second one down from the top.
