poorly duck.. making a frock and growing some veg..

It's been a funny old few weeks...  think we have cracked the to do list for the Waen Welly Wedding so it's just a case of keeping on top of the garden though that's not looking ots best at the moment as its the end of season for a lot of my lovely cottage garden.. so the aim is just to have it looking neat and tidy  :-)

Been beavering away with lots of odds and sods of jobs, making jam for Christmas, finishing the last few wedding decorations and making my body weight in vegetarian and lactose free lasagne for the guests who need it.. (not much room left in the freezer) but nice to get things scratched off  the list :-)

We had a lovely drive out to Aberaeron and Cardigan the other week which was amazing and we found (at last) a new light for our kitchen.. you have to love a recycled cookie jar light.

Mr W then went all welsh and we have new tea caddy thingummys  :-)

You may recall we went to an antique fair in Builth Wells a while back and I bought some 60's fabric.. well here is the frock I produced with it.. to be honest the photo makes it look a bit shite but in reality if I say so myself its quite nice. I have orders for others so it cant be that bad  :-)

The allotment is starting to produce the goods.. look at this huge pile of peas and mange tout... froze loads and popped in a second batch for an autumn harvest  :-) saved all the pea pods for a bit of pea pod wine. Yum :-)

Potatoes

Onions

And now for the Awww bit ... we have a poorly Sophie duck ... last Sunday Mr Waen and daddy Waen had to rescue her from the lake as she appeared to be drowning (never good news for a duck) she still isn't right but certainly more chipper and has really tamed and at the minute will only feed from the hand...  going to see how she goes over the next few days and then off to the vet it may be ...

Sohie's tiny new lake.. in her new pad

A spot of lunch

Finally got around to planting the wellies ready for the wedding.. 18 welly boots with fuchsias in .. now they just need to hit full bloom for the big day
