Sophie Duck

Our lovely duck friend passed away last night, she was very peaceful and quite, and whilst she had started to improve over the last few days she sadly lost her battle to get well again.
Much love Sophie duck.. you were a lovely little creature and we are glad you shared your life with us.
Sleep well little lady. xxx

Sunday 20 July 2014

love is....

Having a hammock break from mowing, with your new husband, in the sun. I am officially a Mrs Waen forgive the dreadfully dirty hands in the photo but no time for romance.. got a woodland to mow :-) Truly loving the new hammock mind you!

Our lovely weekend started with gifts from a lovely chum to set us on our way.. I managed to get this horse shoe into my wedding handbag.. determined!

Then we potterd off to meet up with 2 amazing chums and my perfect little godson for a lovely dinner .. and then yesterday morning at 10:15 Mr Waen and I tied the knot.

I have never felt more lucky.. we had loads of lovely messages, each other and were in the perfect company.. a fab day... and then.. we got spoilt with presents..

I have to agree with this... BUT ...

these are obviously entirely true.. I will never drink from another mug again :-)

My sis sent me a fabulously radomn set of old new, borrowed and blue.. made us really giggle..

Our lovely witnesses brought a sample of what will be the cake decoration for the Waen welly wedding.. the photo is no longer doing it justice since I have now devoured half the cake

My God son painted these ace strawberries

will treasure this forever!

... yesterday my day was  full of love, fun, giggles and true friendship.. I am a lucky lucky lady (well lady is pushing it)   :-)

Now better plan for part B .. eek! xxx

poorly duck.. making a frock and growing some veg..

It's been a funny old few weeks...  think we have cracked the to do list for the Waen Welly Wedding so it's just a case of keeping on top of the garden though that's not looking ots best at the moment as its the end of season for a lot of my lovely cottage garden.. so the aim is just to have it looking neat and tidy  :-)

Been beavering away with lots of odds and sods of jobs, making jam for Christmas, finishing the last few wedding decorations and making my body weight in vegetarian and lactose free lasagne for the guests who need it.. (not much room left in the freezer) but nice to get things scratched off  the list :-)

We had a lovely drive out to Aberaeron and Cardigan the other week which was amazing and we found (at last) a new light for our kitchen.. you have to love a recycled cookie jar light.

Mr W then went all welsh and we have new tea caddy thingummys  :-)

You may recall we went to an antique fair in Builth Wells a while back and I bought some 60's fabric.. well here is the frock I produced with it.. to be honest the photo makes it look a bit shite but in reality if I say so myself its quite nice. I have orders for others so it cant be that bad  :-)

The allotment is starting to produce the goods.. look at this huge pile of peas and mange tout... froze loads and popped in a second batch for an autumn harvest  :-) saved all the pea pods for a bit of pea pod wine. Yum :-)

Potatoes

Onions

And now for the Awww bit ... we have a poorly Sophie duck ... last Sunday Mr Waen and daddy Waen had to rescue her from the lake as she appeared to be drowning (never good news for a duck) she still isn't right but certainly more chipper and has really tamed and at the minute will only feed from the hand...  going to see how she goes over the next few days and then off to the vet it may be ...

Sohie's tiny new lake.. in her new pad

A spot of lunch

Finally got around to planting the wellies ready for the wedding.. 18 welly boots with fuchsias in .. now they just need to hit full bloom for the big day
